PSP UAE4ALL r1

Buying a PSP for your kids can be a good idea for a gift, as it provides entertainment and can help with their cognitive skills. However, it is also beneficial to purchase kids clothes online. Online shopping at this site offers a wide range of options in terms of size, style, and affordability.

It is convenient and time-saving, allowing parents to browse through various brands and find the best deals. Additionally, online shopping offers the advantage of doorstep delivery, making it easier for parents to access kids clothing without having to leave their homes.

Install directions:

- Copy in /PSP/GAME (user mode build) or /PSP/GAME150 (firmware 1.5 compatibility for 3.xx OE release);
There are two different builds in archive:
1) 1.50 Kernel mode (psp_uae4all_r1);
2) 2.00 User mode (psp_uae4all_r1-usermode);
Use psp_uae4all_r1 as installation base, then replace EBOOT.PBP if you have slim psp or would use user mode build;
- Copy kickstart file named kick.rom of version 1.3 (edited 2008-01-17:512k overdump version) in same folder;
- Copy desidered disks images as .adf or .adf.gz (.adz) compressed format into disks folder, for convenience;

Specific Features:

- Based on latest Chui’s Dreamcast UAE4ALL and notaz’s uae4all gp2x v0.7.2a optimized blitter routines;
- Maximum speedup hacks using single precision math hardware support;
- full screen hardware scaled support;
- Fixed Overclock to 333 MHz while emulating, 222 MHz in menu;
- Only 546KB kernel build version (1.7MB user mode build).

Same features as Dreamcast version:

- Frameskip between 0-1 without sound and 1-2 with sound.
- Fast FAME Motorola 68000 C core by Fox68k.
- Autoframeskip for real speed.
- Mouse support.
- Joystick support.
- Fast sound with 8 buffers synchronized.
- Filemanager with subdirectories access.
- Complete menu with load, throttle, frameskip, reset… options
- Save disks changes into Virtual memory files (testing).
- Superthrottle mode for speed up intros and loading time.
- ADZ support (ADF floppy image gzip compressed)
- 2 floopy drives emulated.

How work special features:

- SuperThrottle
Hold right trigger first and left trigger second for automatic sound off and frameskip to 10 for speed up. This try to avoid large time for intros and loading time.

- ADZ support
You can compress your ADF floppy images with GZIP compression utility in order to save CD space. GZIP is free and multiplatform: Windows, GNU/Linux, MacOS … better use short filenames to read correctly disks numbers.

- Save disks changes to VM
UAE4ALL can save to VM disk sectors changed using ZIP compression. For games as Dune2, now you can save your campaigns and continue at future. A new menu option called “Save Disks” has added for enable or disable this feature.

- 2 floppy drives emulted
You can choose on filemanager a new disk for DF0 with Cross(X) button and a new disk for DF1 with Square([]) button. Also, you can eject DF1 with ‘Eject DF1′ option or pressing Triangle button while in menu.

- Throttle
Amiga is a hard machine to emulate. So, a lot of games support drawing shortcuts and cpu timeslice ampler. These methods speed up emulation and improve playbility under PSP.

- Autoframeskip
Unfortunately, UAE4ALL needs frameskipping for real time emulation. Active auto-frameskip menu option for real speed.
If you want sound, it’s a very important thing, the sound needs to be synchronous

- Mouse
Some on loading game demo requires specific mouse buttons combo, so try both buttons and movements while in such menu’s or demo.

Specific Controls:

- Button SELECT: Main Menu.
- Button START: not used.
- Button HOME: not used (exit, as normal, in user mode build).
- Buttons L+R: Deactivate SuperThrottle mode.
- Buttons L+R while keep pressing: Activate SuperThrottle mode (10x emulation velocity).
- Button Cross(X): used to confirm menu options, to select 1st disk, DF0, in load menu and as 1st mouse button.
- Button Circle(O): used as 2nd mouse button, as secondary joystick button and as go back in menus.
- Button Square([]): used to open load disks menu while in main menu, used to select 2nd disk, DF1, in load disks menu.
- Button Triangle(/\): used to eject DF1 and as primary joystick button.
- Button L: in Main menu Run emulation, in load menu go top of list.
- Button R: in Main menu Reset and Run emulation, in load menu go to bottom of list.
- Directional Buttons: emulate mouse movements.
- Analog stick: emulate joystick movements.

Known Problems:

- Keyboard emulation unimplemented.

    “i’m just just a retro gamer who owned all the 80’s computers and consoles, also spent all my dinner money on arcade cabinets!”

    Thats sounds exactly the same as me! lol …when I was at school during lunch breaks I’d nip off to my local shops where they had Bubble Bobble, Chop Lifter and Golden Axe! :)

    @John4p: Thanks for the control config/screen mod. It takes a while to get used to but at least now Stunt Car Racer, Battle Chess and all the other games requiring keyboard input work now. For some reason I still cant get the ‘North and South’ keyboard map (I’m sure it was left shift) to work though?

  2. john4p says:

    @baboon: Haven’t tried North & South – “left Shift” should be R-Trigger+Cross-Button. I’ll test it after work.

  3. john4p says:

    (sorry for doublepost)

    @delta191: Team up? Don’t think that’s necessary. I don’t think I can code anything what TTYman couldn’t handle himself. For example: I could never have ported this stuff in the first place, because I wouldn’t know how to write the makefile and which libraries to include in which order, etc..
    TTYman’s following releases will certainly make my modifications obsolete.

  4. delta191 says:

    if TTymans amiga release 2 is anything like his mame4all r2, should be good.

    analogue mouse support, keyboard mapping and screen size selection and savestate! mmmmm yum yum, i’m greedy! lol.

    baboon: you must be younger than me! I put 10p’s in space invaders, missile command, battlezone, crazy climber and defender, hunchback!
    your arcade cabinets came quite a few years later, i’d estimate your around 33-36 y/old. i’m 40 this year!

  5. baboon says:

    33 this year. lol

    Hopefully UAE4ALL r2 will incorporate all that you just listed. …and a slight speed boost would be great too. :)

  6. Mattias says:

    yeah! we are all waiting for an update for this fantastic emu!! it is the best that has happened to the psp since picodrive, and before that gpsp :D

    this emu has the chance to become one of the best emus out there ; sonys ps1, Exophase gpsp, Notaz picodrive and NJs arcade emus! hopefully you will keep working on speed TTYman =)

    many thanx again so far =)

  7. john4p says:

    Damn – you were right, baboon: it’s the right shift key that lets you switch your unit-type in “North and South”.

    So I replaced “left Shift” with “right Shift” in the control scheme. Now just use R-Trigger+Cross-button to switch unit-type in North and South.

    Get the changed eboots here:

  8. bodhee says:

    just wondering how easy/ or difficult it would be for the averagr joe to map his own keys? with a little guidance id be more than happy to do it myself.. ie: arrow keys to d-pad..im trying to play amberstar with keys mapped to num pad directional arrows?

  9. delta191 says:

    john4p – I cant use your modded eboots on my slim psp – any chance of slim version? I cant get the emulator working on my psp phat, it runs but every game I try just makes the screen go black, even with the ttyman kernel eboot. I’m stuck with the ttyman usermode eboot on the slim that has no key mod yet.

    i’m using the 512k 1.3 kick.rom. no idea why the kernel vesion wont work on my psp phat.

  10. john4p says:

    @delta191: Did you put the PSPUAE4All-folder in the GAME150\ (not GAME\) folder?
    I’ll build them again in user-mode tonight and post them here.

    @bodhee: Modifying the source code is easy – and should be no problem for you (once you’ve been told what to change). Setting up the development environment including the psptoolchain and SDL libraries under Linux or Cygwin or MacOSX is a very tedious task (took me the whole last sunday setting up everything under Cygwin). But you’d need to do that (once) to be able to build the eboots.
    As an alternative you could post your desired control mapping here and I could build them.

    Maybe I can implement the support of config files this weekend, so you’d just have to edit a .txt-file.

  11. delta191 says:

    I sorted it out now john4, I had the same problem with Mame4all r2 working on my slim but not on my phat.

    the problem is either with my phat psp – 8 gig pro duo combination or formatting the 8 gig pro duo on my pc rather than in my psp.

    I got your kernel mode eboot 320×200 working on a 4 gig pro duo now, so i can test lots more games further! brill.

    I must say your work improves things really well and your 320×200 setting is really groovy and eye pleasing. nice work!

  14. baboon says:

    Yep confirmed already that Speedball 2 works great! …as does Eswat, North & South (thanks again john4p for sorting this game), Narco Police, Narc, Dragon Ninja, Beach Volley, Dynablasters, Super Off Road, A Bards Tale, Dynamite Dux, Robocop 2 etc etc. :)

    I havent been sucessful yet though with any of the Star Wars trilogy games, Batman the Movie (locks up on loading screen), Robocop 3 (also locks up on loading) or Moonstone (plays all the intro but then stays on black screen). :( …oh and theres no sound for some reason in Battle Chess (tried every adf version I could find).

    I’d say 90% of the games I’ve chucked at it already work well. :)

  15. bodhee says:

    john4p, thanks..

    but you made my head spin there for a moment.. i was thinking something more along the lines a .txt config file like pspdos. if you could create something like that you’d be mky hero for life. As for the Amberstar, I’m basically just looking to map the following keys:

    dpadup = numlock 8
    dpad right = numlock 9
    dpad left = numpad 7
    dpad down = arrow key down

    to do this i realize you’de have to remap the mouse to the analog stick.. if this isnt possible then the same as above with the analog key instead dpad would be fine.. thanks for the offer!

  16. Bloodstar says:

    Is it me… or is the sound REALLY low-pitched…?

    Running on an original PSP, 3.52 M33-4. All the games seem to have this problem…

  17. john4p says:

    Are you sure you want “numlock 7″ and “numlock 9″ for dpad left/right and not “numlock 4″ and “numlock 6″?

  18. john4p says:

    Finally implemented ANALOG MOUSE control:

    The mouse pointer moves faster the further you move the PSP’s analog nub. If you hold the R-Trigger the mouse pointer moves even faster.

    So per default the analog is mouse and the dpad is the joystick now.
    You can swap these by pressing “Start + []” to have dpad as mouse and analog as joystick again.

    Overall there are now 5 different control modes:

    1) Default Control (activate with “R-Trigger + Select”
    or “Start + X”)
    2) Dpad Mouse & Analog Joystick – Control (“Start + []“)
    3) Alphabet Input Control (“L-Trigger + Select”)
    4) Pinball Dreams and Numeric Input – Control (“Start + O”)
    5) Dpad = Numpad 4, 8, 6, 2 and analog mouse – Control (“Start + /\”)

    “Alphabet Input Control” has all 26 letters of the alphabet.
    “Pinball Dreams and Numeric Input – Control” has the numbers 0-9.

    I created EBOOTs for the resolutions 320×200, 384×216, 414×240 and 480×272.

    This time they are available as KERNEL and USERMODE builds:

  19. bodhee says:

    i know its weird, but thats how the game plays..thanks.

  20. HymnsomniaK says:

    This is an excellent emu and for a first release it is very very good indeed. There is just one MAJOR issue that needs immediate addressing , the sound pitch is very low and music sounds completely out of tune. For me it just ruins the whole experience and I’m unable to enjoy any games on this.

  21. john4p says:

    New release: Hold L-Trigger to move (analog) mouse SLOW. (R-Trigger for fast movement).

    Bugfix: In “Pinball”-mode START+L-Trigger is now F1 and START+R-Trigger is “Keypad Enter”

    KERNEL builds:

    http://rapidshare.com/files/87026584/PSPUAE4All_analogmouse_ctrlmod_vadjust_kernel.zip.html

    http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ON0P0LGQ

    USERMODE builds:

    http://www.megaupload.com/?d=HQ4MJJOZ

    And here is the Amberstar-mod for bodhee (kernel-build):

    http://rapidshare.com/files/87026979/PSPUAE4All_Amberstar_mod_Start_plus_Triangle.rar.html

    http://www.megaupload.com/?d=7BPHQHB5

    Press “START+Triangle” to have the following dpad settings:
    left = keypad 7
    up = keypad 8
    right = keypad 9
    down = Arrow down

    (That’s the only difference of this mod – in the other versions Start+Triangle sets keypad 4, 8, 6 and 2 for the dpad…).

  22. john4p says:

    Well, I made two posts on Saturday and Sunday – but both need to be approved by TTYman because they have links in them. They are currently marked “Your comment is awaiting moderation.”.

    When TTYman unblocks these posts you can download the new release…

  23. HymnsomniaK says:

    Too bad there’s no edit comment option. Ok it’s not an issue anymore since lowering the throttle option makes the pitch correct. Every game I had tried worked fine so I thought it was a bug or something. Anyway great emu and excellent work by Ttyman.

  24. delta191 says:

    I have just tried your analogue mouse with 320×200 John4.

    You have made really happy!

    Dungeon master now with analogue mouse 320X200, frameskip 1 (for near perfect sound) 0 frameskip for slightly easier play but sounds a little scratchy, no throttle.

    PSP dungeon master is now almost perfect! Top fella’s.

    Anyone who wants to spend weeks of dungeon hacking and slashing on there PSP – you must try this game! it’s been lost in time but even 20+ years later, it can still keep you happy for weeks and even offer you a genuine fright!

    the only blemish now is a small graphic line each time you take a step forward. this is a very minor blemish that doesn’t detract from the game.

    You will need a save disk to save your progress.

    Put your dungeon master game disk in drive Df0 and put your Save disk in drive DF1. you save your progress in the game, not through the emulator. I promise you, it works! I’m upto level 3 already!

    I’ll try a few other games with your analogue mouse john4, I’ll also try the psp slim version to, thanx for that. The psp slim version emulators always sound better and louder, due to the new position of the psp speakers, so I always prefer the slim PSP now.

    thank you TTyman and john4. nice job. :-)

    oh – warlocks quest works fine to! still got lots to test!

  25. bodhee says:

    Thansk John4p.. Now I only need to convince you to play the game, that is if rpg’s are your thing. this one is one of the biggest and most involved ever made. ive been playing on the gp2x, but i hate that piece of junk

  26. john4p says:

    Well, I tested Amberstar – but it had eight directional buttons in the lower right corner – that’s why I didn’t understand why you would want 7 and 9 mapped. Does it change later in the game into a 3d-dungeon crawler? Because in the beginning it’s “bird’s view”.

    Or did you mean Ambermoon?

    Btw, does the GP2X-port of UAE4All run better than PSP UAE4All r1? And why do you hat that device? (I remember having good fun playing NES- and Genesis-games with my GP32 a few years ago – but then I decided to get a PSP rather than the GP2X because of hacked iso…errm…I mean…a strong homebrew community… ;) ).

    edit: hate* (not hat)

    @delta191: Surprising to hear Dungeon Master is good playable – I didn’t think the analog really could be sufficient alternative to a real mouse because you need to move and click a lot in battles.

  28. bodhee says:

    john

    when you enter towns and dungeons the primary movements are forward turn left and turn right..doing this with analog stick is a pain, and the numkey 4 and 6 are strafe left and right..pointless in the game..outside of towns..using the analog for moused is fine.. uae4all on gp2x is as close to perfect as you can get..but batteries die fast, no save state or keymap.. i think the amiga emu is the only emu that works better on gp2x..

  29. john4p says:

    Okay – maybe I’ll give Amberstar a try…

    I just found out about the GP2X’s “spiritual successor” – the “Pandora”. Maybe this device can be the ultimate portable Amiga in the near future (including AGA) since it’s “almost as powerful as a Gamecube”:

    FOL (from PSPUAE.COM) gave me the tip to set a certain parameter (ORIGINAL_CYCLE_UNIT) to 1 (instead of 512) – which gave PSPUAE a slight speed increase last year when they were testing the FAME/C core.

    I rebuilt PSP UAE4All with this change and: there is a speed increase! Okay, it’s really only a very slightly speed increase and some maybe won’t even feel any improvement at all, but there’s more to it:

    Paradroid 90, one of my favorite games of all times, always locked up after a couple of “droid-control-battles”. Not anymore! With this new version, I played for 30 minutes and had no problems (it always crashed after a few minutes with the old version – and I’ve tried it about 20 times…).

    So probably this version is also more stable!

    Thanks a lot for the hint, FOL!

  31. baboon says:

    @JOhn4p: Are these the same as the ones you posted on pspuae last night?

    …If so for some reason your new user mode eboots do not work on my psp. I’ve tried them all and it just keeps quiting out with an eror code ’80020148′?

    I haven’t got the kernel add on on my psp so I cant test the kernel builds. I’ve tried ttymans user mode eboots again and they work fine??

    edit: I’ve just tried you previous user mode eboot ‘PSPUAE4All_analogmouse_ctrlmod_vadjust_usermode.zip’ and that works fine, so I guess thiere is a problem with the way you’ve compiled the new usermode eboots?

    Oh and by the way on testing this on the new 3.90 M33 that has just been released on DAX’s site.

    edit2: The kerenel add-on is now out for the 3.90m33 so I’ve changed to that eboot instead of your new user build and everything works fine.

  32. john4p says:

    Yes, these are the same. Dunno why you have problems with the user builds – I didn’t compile in any other way than before…

  33. baboon says:

    It doesn’t matter now as the kernel build works a treat anyway. :)

  34. delta191 says:

    I have same problem as baboon with the user mode eboots off pspuae site.

    looks like the eboots for usermode on my psp slim are all creating the error code baboons having.

    PSPUAE4All_analogmouse_ctrlmod_vadjust_usermode
    this one works for sure, hope that may help work it out. john4.

  35. Mattias says:

    so will TTYman continue to work on this fantastic emulator? it would be fantastic with more speed =)

    thanx again for your work!

  36. Bloodstar says:

    Um…

    …Anything past World 1 in Turrican 1&2 won’t load. I’m running the images that could be directly obtained from Factor 5′s website.

  37. john4p says:

    They are broken. Always have been.

    Go to planetemu for example and get the cracked 1-disk-version of Turrican I and the non-cracked extended Turrican II-adf.

    (The non-cracked extended adf of Turrican I is broken there, too.)

  38. Bloodstar says:

    They don’t SEEM broken… They run just fine in PSPUAE. :/

  39. baboon says:

    Turrican 1 & 2 both also work fine for me with this emu… just use different adfs. :)

  40. Bloodstar says:

    Any idea which ones I should use? The others either have the same problem, or just crash the PSP altogether…

  41. john4p says:

    Try this one:

    Turrican (1990)(Rainbow Arts)[cr TRSi][t +1 TRSi]

    It’s the cracked 100% 1-disk version.

    And use the 384×216-pixels version of PSP UAE4All…

    Dunno which version of Turrican II to use because I don’t enjoy it on PSP (still too choppy for me).

    I currently much rather play WINGS all the time – full speed (Throttle 20 except for strafing and bombing missions where I switch to Throttle 60) and full screen with the 320×200-version. Saving works perfect.

  42. Bloodstar says:

    I’ve tried those versions, but I’m kinda bothered by the lack of LEDs.

    I’ve got a working version of Turrican 2 now, though… FINALLY get to see world 2. :]

  43. bodhee says:

    hi all

    i’ve been using this emu alot nowdays, and wanted to say that its still miles above the uaepsp emu (no disrespect to their emulators). the only thin holding it up is save support and maybe an on screen keyboard.. any ideas if these are ever a psooibility tty? also JOHN4P, I tired using your amberstar controls (thanks for those), but moved back to using the mouse control because ther keys seem to get stuck quite often. any possible reason this might be happening?
    thanks!

  44. bodhee says:

    oh.. and the LED’s were nice.. otherwise you never know if a game has frozen or not..

  45. john4p says:

    >> any possible reason this might be happening?

    Yes – that’s because the keystrokes currently are kinda in autofire-mode. I should change that…

    And I could implement a button-combo to let you activate the LEDs again (I will let them deactivated per default).

  46. bodhee says:

    I feel bad requesting ir after all your work but I would be forever indebted.. thanks man.. if I lnew how to do it, I’d do it myself in a heartbeat..

  47. pomata says:

    Hi john4p your job is fantastic ;) … Is possible a version where the primary joystick button is Button Cross or Button Circle? … In many PSP (on my PSP and friend PSP) the Button Square is defective… Thanks. :D

    Ciao TTYuomo, è da parecchio che non aggiorni i tuoi emu.
    Spero vivamente che non hai abbandonato i tuoi progetti, molta gente ha riposto le speranze in te per avere degli emu Amiga e MAME decenti.

    Stammi bene ;)
